![]() Everyone has their secrets and it is up to the reader to decide whether to believe it or not. ![]() Everything and everyone are not what they seem and that made the story so much more compelling. I loved how the novel dealt with the theme: Appearance vs. Her backstory was so grim and I could not help but feel for her. Yes, she made stupid mistakes but didn’t we all make stupid mistakes when we were in our 20s? What I liked about her character was that she was determined and did not back down. In terms of the characters, Jules was interesting. The twists weren’t that surprising but I had the time of my life trying to figure things out and playing Scooby-Doo. Best believe I stayed up all night finishing this book because I needed to know the answers. ![]() The book was written in such a way that you are always on edge, waiting for the truth to come out. The plot was at a perfect pace - not too slow and not too fast. ![]() ![]() This was my first Riley Sager book and I’m glad to say, he exceeded my expectations! Realistic situations with realistic characters - that’s what I love in a thriller novel! I had such a fun time reading this (well, as much fun as you could have when there’s creepy stuff happening in an apartment building heh). ![]()
